Friday Prophecy Post

Armed with what I believed God showed me was true ,

and that the Rapture and subsequent second coming of

the Lord happened at the Last Trump. I began to investigate

who else believed this to be truth.
I spent months in the scripture and in reading older work from

prophecy teachers and church fathers .

My husband had come to the conclusion of the Last Trump years before I had, but did not really have a definite understanding of explaining why he felt it to be true.

By now I was still preparing my heart and mind to fully understand why I had come to believe the way that I did and to be able to give a sound and scriptural explanation.

One Saturday afternoon , my husband and I were listening to the radio and caught the program of a very well known and respected prophecy teacher. If I were to name him very many of you would know who he is.
I had always respected this man as having sound doctrine and he was seemingly mature in the faith.

The teacher was taking phone calls this day , all related to prophecy so my husband called. He got through to the teacher, and was put on hold in a bank of calls to be randomly allowed to ask his question. When Jonathan’s turn came, he thanked the teacher for taking his call and asked the following question .

“ Brother, can you please tell me why a post-tribulation doctrine is no longer taught in the church “ I was sitting a bit away from him so I could hear the radio as he asked the question. And this is what I heard ……

“ BECAUSE IT IS A LIE , THAT’S WHY” …. I looked over at my husband who was sitting with the phone in his hand and a look on his face , and I said “ What Happened?” Jonathan replied . “ He hung up on me”

I then listened to the “ Teacher” talk for about 10 minutes about the pre-tribulation rapture of the church and how that it has been the accepted position of the church since the Council of Nicaea and whoever believed otherwise was believing heretical teaching.
We are not appointed to wrath .

I felt so bad for my husband , who always respected this brother and
I realized the listening audience had no idea that my husband had been disconnected and unable to respond at all.

We went about the rest of the day , but this episode kept playing in my mind, over and over along with the verse of scripture the “teacher” had used.

1Th:5:9: For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

At a family function several weeks later, my husband was sharing with my cousin’s husband the telephone conversation and what had transpired. Our family member said, “ Yeah, we heard you . I told Christine that was you on the phone “

Later that evening after all of the company left, my husband and I went on-line to the archives of that days radio program to hear the “teachers” response in detail.
The question was not in that day’s program, it was as if the call had never been made or the question asked.

I found this to be very unusual and the inquisitive spirit in me …set out to find out about the wrath of God. It was this phone call that actually caused me to seek answers in God's word for myself about the Wrath of God.

We had been studying Revelation for about 10 months at this time and I would listen intently each week as we read the Book of Revelation in it’s entirety without commentary during the reading.

One summer evening as I was listening intently to my husband reading through Revelation , I was interrupted with a thought in my head , and knew in my heart that it was the Holy Spirit .

As I listened to the familar reading of Revelation, I suddenly realized there are two wraths

1) the Wrath of satan -
Re:11:7: And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

Re:12:12: Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Re:13:7: And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

And

2) the Wrath of God which occurs at the Last Trump….. And we are gone before that !!!!!

Re:15:1: And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

Re:15:7: And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

Re:16:1: And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

I believe we will suffer tribulations, trials and persecutions . Some of us may give their life for Jesus. But God always has a witness. Praying God for the strength to stand in this day and the days ahead!

Maranatha Lord Jesus!

WOW ………..We are not appointed to the wrath of God.

Hugs & Prayers , GG

Bless you sister. You are getting closer all the
time. I was raised in the teachings of your
"preacher friend". It even took the Lord a long
time to help me see the truth. In addition to the
wrath of God and the wrath of Satan. Many make
the mistake of thinking "Tribulation" and "Wrath"
are the same word. Why they are not even spelled
the same. Lastly, Matthew chapter 24 will end
up being the way it happens. Not the wishful
thinking of some "theorylogian". God bless you.

A great point. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Kristi ~~
I know it was such a long post, nost of them have been. I hope they are not going, on and on.

Trying to establish how I was thinking and how I came to see "truth" in God'd word regardless of how uncomfortable it may have been.

I really trust the Holy Spirit, He has truly always been my very best teacher. I know He leads me into all truth.

Farmer J ~~ I am by no means a theologian , but I do believe God's Word and God does tell us in His Word : Heb:11:6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I want to always be diligently seeking him. I ask God questions all the time...Everything we need to know can be found in His Word.

Thanks for sharing dear!

Such a shame that your husband was treated that way.

THere are so many things that we do not understand about the end times. I am just praying that He comes quickly! We are definitely undergoing tribulation on earth now and I pray He comes before it gets worse.

Love to you - Beth

Hi Beth ~~
Love your post yesterday BTW...your blog is quicly becoming one of my favorite places to visit , and you prayer blog too, we have added those request to the ones we pray for.

I look at it this way, if that "teacher" had not bee so abrupt with Jonathan , I may have never dug into the word, seeking truth for myself .... God cause all things to work together for our good, and His Glory.

GG,
I can't tell you how often my husband and I were regarded as 'heretics' because of that very same 'unsettling' in our spirits that caused us to question the 'pre-trib' theory. We just didn't see it that way in Scripture, but resolved to simply keep our mouths shut and not 'make waves'.
Thank you for delving into Scripture to find the answers and to boldly and eloquently share them!
Hugs,
Deb

Deb ~~
I totally understand, I wonder how many people are sitting in the church awaiting the left foot of fellowship.
Seems Jonathan and I are in good company. Delighted to call you sister.

Praise God for you and the fact that you are searching and seeking the truth. Satan has so many deceived about the pre-tribulation rapture. Most are sitting around smugly loving their disappearing more than Christ reappearing. What makes us so special that our faith would not be tested as the saints of old were. NOTHING. God is not a respecter of persons and he tells us we will have trials and tribulations. I am glad you pointed out it is the wrath of Satan and not God that is being discussed prior to the last trump!

Amen Rose.....
