Be of Good Courage...........

To be discouraged is defined as to deprive of courage, hope or confidence. To become disheartened.
When we place confidence in ourselves it is not a sure foundation.

Our hope, Our confidence and our sure foundation, comes from living our faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Charles Spurgeon looked upon dark hours in his own life and said :

" I bear witness that I owe more to the fire, and the hammer, and the file,

than to anything else in my Lord's workshop.

I sometimes question whether I have ever learned anything except through the rod.

When my schoolroom is darkened , that is the time I see most ."

Psalms:31:24: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Hi GG, so nice to find you, I can relate to this post. God has allowed a lot of "stuff" in my life. I've tried to learn from it and not "waste" the experiences, bad or good.
Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. Hope you went on over to the Bible Study at "a day in the life", my other blog.
So nice to meet you! Have a wonderful blessed day.

Our Chaplain shared something similar to this with us a few weeks ago. He talked about the need for sustenance in order to truly survive ~ and when we sustain in the Lord, we are sure to have all that we need.

Love and continued prayers for your family!

Amen Farmer J~ I agree.

The older I get , the more I am persuaded that I have learned so much more in the fiery trials and in the refiners furnace. However painful these season may be at the time.

Coming out on the other side of them......Praising God for His sustaining power.

I recently read a piece by Charles Stanley that was about this very subject. So true!

Laurie~~
I love Charles Stanley. I think he is one of the most awesome 'teaching pastors" in the Body of Christ right now. I always receive so much anytime I listen to him.
