Friday Prophecy Post

Armed with what I believed God showed me was true ,

and that the Rapture and subsequent second coming of

the Lord happened at the Last Trump. I began to investigate

who else believed this to be truth.
I spent months in the scripture and in reading older work from

prophecy teachers and church fathers .

My husband had come to the conclusion of the Last Trump years before I had, but did not really have a definite understanding of explaining why he felt it to be true.

By now I was still preparing my heart and mind to fully understand why I had come to believe the way that I did and to be able to give a sound and scriptural explanation.

One Saturday afternoon , my husband and I were listening to the radio and caught the program of a very well known and respected prophecy teacher. If I were to name him very many of you would know who he is.
I had always respected this man as having sound doctrine and he was seemingly mature in the faith.

The teacher was taking phone calls this day , all related to prophecy so my husband called. He got through to the teacher, and was put on hold in a bank of calls to be randomly allowed to ask his question. When Jonathan’s turn came, he thanked the teacher for taking his call and asked the following question .

“ Brother, can you please tell me why a post-tribulation doctrine is no longer taught in the church “ I was sitting a bit away from him so I could hear the radio as he asked the question. And this is what I heard ……

“ BECAUSE IT IS A LIE , THAT’S WHY” …. I looked over at my husband who was sitting with the phone in his hand and a look on his face , and I said “ What Happened?” Jonathan replied . “ He hung up on me”

I then listened to the “ Teacher” talk for about 10 minutes about the pre-tribulation rapture of the church and how that it has been the accepted position of the church since the Council of Nicaea and whoever believed otherwise was believing heretical teaching.
We are not appointed to wrath .

I felt so bad for my husband , who always respected this brother and
I realized the listening audience had no idea that my husband had been disconnected and unable to respond at all.

We went about the rest of the day , but this episode kept playing in my mind, over and over along with the verse of scripture the “teacher” had used.

1Th:5:9: For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

At a family function several weeks later, my husband was sharing with my cousin’s husband the telephone conversation and what had transpired. Our family member said, “ Yeah, we heard you . I told Christine that was you on the phone “

Later that evening after all of the company left, my husband and I went on-line to the archives of that days radio program to hear the “teachers” response in detail.
The question was not in that day’s program, it was as if the call had never been made or the question asked.

I found this to be very unusual and the inquisitive spirit in me …set out to find out about the wrath of God. It was this phone call that actually caused me to seek answers in God's word for myself about the Wrath of God.

We had been studying Revelation for about 10 months at this time and I would listen intently each week as we read the Book of Revelation in it’s entirety without commentary during the reading.

One summer evening as I was listening intently to my husband reading through Revelation , I was interrupted with a thought in my head , and knew in my heart that it was the Holy Spirit .

As I listened to the familar reading of Revelation, I suddenly realized there are two wraths

1) the Wrath of satan -
Re:11:7: And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

Re:12:12: Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Re:13:7: And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

And

2) the Wrath of God which occurs at the Last Trump….. And we are gone before that !!!!!

Re:15:1: And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

Re:15:7: And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

Re:16:1: And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

I believe we will suffer tribulations, trials and persecutions . Some of us may give their life for Jesus. But God always has a witness. Praying God for the strength to stand in this day and the days ahead!

Maranatha Lord Jesus!

WOW ………..We are not appointed to the wrath of God.

Lemon Meringue Cake Recipe

I really love all of my Taste of Home Cook books.

This has the potential of making it onto my

Valentine Dinner for hubby.

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup milk

FILLING:
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup water
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter

MERINGUE:
4 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar
Directions
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and yolks; mix well. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Pour into greased and floured 9-in. round baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack and cool completely.

For filling, combine sugar and flour in a heavy saucepan. Stir in water until smooth. Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. Stir a small amount of hot filling into egg yolks; return all to the pan, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil; cook and stir 2 minutes longer. Remove from the heat. Gently stir in lemon juice, butter and lemon peel. Cool to room temperature without stirring. Place cake on a baking sheet; spoon filling on top of cake to within 1/2. of edge.

For meringue, let egg whites stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. In a small bowl and with clean beaters, beat egg whites and cream of tartar on medium speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating on high until stiff peaks form. Carefully spread over filling, sealing to edges of cake. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: 6-8 servings.

It's a good thing......

One of the simplest things to make and it is one of my most treasured items lol.

My Husband and I have matching ones , the kids all have wonderful velour ones.
Sister, Auntie and Mom all have cotton ones……..

Microwave Heating Pad Directions
No pattern , just cut two pieces of cloth in the size/shape you wish your bag to be.
Leave a seam allowance for yourself (about 1/2″).
Some prefer regular square shape bags, others prefer tubes or more rectangular shapes.

Filler Options
Uncooked rice ( don't use brown rice , it can go rancid)
Barley
Oatmeal
Beans

FABRIC OPTIONS
Cotton: (plain, prints, flannels, denims)
Alternate ideas: old socks (sew or knot end closed),

( I really like this option as you can just untie the knot, empty the contents , wash the sock and re-fill .)

washcloths

old towels
velour knits ( the kids have this for their little bags)

pretty fabric prints and flannels (don’t microwave anything other than cotton fabrics).

The softer & fluffier & better!

Directions For Use
Place in microwave and heat for 1 to 3 minutes, depending on size of bag. Do not leave unattended “just in case” . As a precaution, you can set a cup of water inside the microwave while heating the bag to add moisture or spritzing bag lightly with water before heating.

Enjoy......

Prophecy Friday

I had felt pretty comfortable with my position on the rapture and the second coming,

I basically had two major scripture as a foundation to support my position :

1Th:5:9: For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

1Th:4:16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th:4:17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th:4:18: Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I went along quite lovely like that for several years . My level of interest in prophecy peaking at several times in my life when global events seemed to be heating up and the prophetic pot was stirred so to speak.

Events like the Chernobyl event , The Dessert Storm war , The Y2K Scare, 9/11

Somewhere between The dessert storm war and the Y2K Scare , and during a long stint in corporate America, I realized I was not where I should be with God.
Something was missing and I felt like the fire of my faith was going out.
I was so far from the young girl that would ride the public transportation system all day carrying Bibles and Tracts, sharing my love of Jesus to anyone that would give me 30 seconds of time .

Thank the Lord Jesus for praying Mother’s, and the prayers of unknown intercessors who took to their knee’s and never let up.
In the Spring of 1994 , I repented , and I turned back to Him full steam on fire and hungry for His word.

God had forgiven me the moment I surrendered.
I would like to say that I immediately felt the love of God in my life again, that I was back in the presence of God , but for me it would be a while until I felt the warmth of His presence and the flow of my prayer life restored to me in an even greater way.

It was during this time of restoration that I began to understand what I shared with Jesus was a relationship.
No more “religious” activity that left me empty and only “looked” good on the outside. That will kill you. It was relationship with Jesus. I wanted to know Him. Like I knew the people in my life I loved with all my heart.

I would spend another 8 years in corporate America . But this time, Jesus came to work with me everyday and my last 8 years were spiritually fruitful, many came to Christ, they are still prayer partners with us, and attend Friday evening Bible study , some have moved on and are pastors and evangelizing, nationally and internationally.

As I became diligent to God’s word, and really began to spend meaningful time in it’s pages, so many truths just seemed to jump off the page and some began to unfold….into more detail …….
January 8, 1998 - We opened our home to Weekly Bible Study , with a young new pastor, who was on fire for God. , he came weekly to our home and taught us the Word of God. He really poured himself out to us as a man of God and we flourished in God’s presence and in His word.

Pastor was an incredible bible teacher and still is , God has expanded his ministry by leaps and bounds. He now has a national and international ministry to the Body of Christ and has a ministry to the ministers. He is an apostolic leader, prophetic speaker, teacher, writer and mentor and a dear friend .

My husband and I thank God for the time we sat under the teaching of this faithful man of God.

It was during this time that I developed a passion for God’s word. I began to just indulge myself in God’s word and was astonished at all I had “missed”.
God called Pastor to Michigan and we kept the bible study going.
In 2000, My husband began to teach our Friday night study and we started into the Book of Revelation.
It had been a few years since I had studied Revelation in depth. We began reading through Revelation each week as a Bible Study. With no commentary , Just God’s Word and we did that for over a year, about 60 weeks.
Each bible study I took notes, and I was beginning to see things developing in the Word of God that I never had.

During my devotional and reading time , I would find myself going over notes from Bible study and trying to put all the little pieces and thought together.
7 Seals, 7 Trumpets, 7 Vials…………… Each week I would read and hear the entire book of revelation at bible study and I began to develop a thought in my head.
Each of these seven judgments had so many similarities…… It was almost like God kept telling the same story over , each time with more detail ???? Could that be? Does God layer his Word like that ?

It was just like the thought that was developing during my bible study time regarding the Trumpets of God .

I had always identified the “Trump” Of 1Thessolians as a trump that was like a special trump that all Christians would hear and then we would be raptured.

1Th:4:16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Now , another layer is added ………………..

1Co:15:51: Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co:15:52: In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Same event, more information…..THE LAST TRUMP

There it was again that last trump….sticking out at me , what was it that was different ? what was the key ? the clue? the sticking point………..
It was the LAST TRUMP…..God was saying it is at the Last Trump these things would occur…..

Well when is the last trump ???????? Would the saints would be raptured at the LAST TRUMP. ?????
One day studying Matthew it stuck out to me and shook my previously held position to the core.

M't:24:29: Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
M't:24:30: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
M't:24:31: And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
WHOA……………. Could this really be true…..It was not what I had be taught , not what was the predominant view. And I really wanted to be outta here before all this stuff happens.

The Joy of the Lord is our Strength

Ne:8:2: And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.
Ne:8:3: And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

Ne:8:4: And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
Ne:8:5: And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:
Ne:8:6: And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
Ne:8:7: Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place
Ne:8:8: So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.
Ne:8:9: And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
Ne:8:10: Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Ne:8:11: So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.

Ne:8:12: And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.

This portion of scripture so spoke to my heart this morning, I will let it speak to you in the way in which Our Strength would have it speak to you.

Prophecy Friday

About 15 years ago I started reading the book of Revelation start to finish each week .

I would read it out loud so that I could
“hear “ it as well.
I did this because I saw in the very beginning of this book that there were three blessings.

Re:1:3: Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

I would come to see why God put those blessings in the beginning of Revelation , because many times as you grow in your understanding you become a “target” if you will for some interesting skirmishes in the spiritual realm ….more of that at another time ….
Sidebar ( For a good foundational understanding on the spiritual realm/warfare/understanding , check out the series on Spiritual Visitors @ Faded Ladies Rose and Deb’s Blog there is a link in the Blogs I follow)

So with this understanding I set off to reading through the book of Revelation each week at least once a week in it’s entirety. From the time the Holy Spirit began to woo me to the foot of the cross late 1970’s until the time I began investigating God‘s word for myself , I read a lot of books on prophecy……

Most all of Hal Lindsey’s books, Jack Van Impe, Books And Tapes, Peter and Paul Lalonde’s most all of everything they produced. I read Dave Hunt’s book….a bit of a “read’ Unless you’re a biblical scholar doing a paper on Church history , for me anyway.

Grant Jeffrey Books were also on my list of reads as well as all the fictional “prophecy” books, Left Behind series, Frank Peretti and such.

I remember as a young girl in church , the excitement that stirred in me when Pastor Wibley announced that we were going to have a prophecy expert come to the church . It was early 1981 or 82 . Evangelist Halsberg came with a chart that stretched from one end of the platform to the other.
I sat fascinated to hear Brother Halsberg tell us something new about the coming of the Lord ….. A three day seminar beginning Friday evening and concluding Sunday night.
I went away Sunday night with all the material he had brought with him to be purchased in the back at the tables …..But not with any new understanding to what I had been taught already. Which was basically the following :

1) there is a 7 year tribulation period.
2) Before the beginning of this tribulation period we would be raptured and take ‘out of the way”
3) You’d better be ready to meet Jesus before all hell broke loose on this earth or you’d be left behind.
4) all events that happened after the rapture we do not have to worry about because we are at the marriage supper of the lamb. Waiting to return with Him at Armageddon to destroy the Antichrist and bind satan for 1000 years.

So there it was ….I believed it , just like almost most everyone in my denomination and everyone in our church and my friends that were Christians, My Mom , My Aunt who lead me to the Lord. Many , many pastors and teachers we had come to know through the years.
I was in good company. Surely many of them knew better then me. I was fine with my position for several years , until God’s Word unsettled my accepted position. ................

Shuffling Along....................

In my haste to flood my pantry with canned goods last Friday...........

I apparently pulled some muscles in my lower back and waist area.............Nothing fun.

I am shuffling around the house in my blue fluffy slippers and matching sweats. My Ponytail is flung to the side and I gritting my teeth as I shuffle along.

Yes, my shelves are stocked with canned goods. But I paid the price. This is day 2 and I am not a great patient.

Take time to rest. That's the recommendation , Ice/Heat/ Ibuprofen ( Which I can't take ) .

Is that some kind of cruel joke?????? Anyone knows what the Laundry looks like when you take time to rest!

My Sweet husband did all my dishes for me yesterday and I had made quite a mess preparing a pork roast.

I have plenty of books I got for Christmas , I started reading Sarah Palins new book and was kept painfully amused until the 2nd Chapter. My Beverly Lewis books I don't want to waste a good book while I am in this pain.

It seems so unnatural for me to have the remote in my hand and my feet up.....Something just not right with that picture.

But ........Here I am posting to all of you my current inconvenient injury....I must not feel too bad if I can do that ..... I felt a bit of relief last evening and hoping that today will be the day that this just goes away !

Whoo Hoo...... I have too much to do.

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy......

2Pe:1:20: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Re:19:10: And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

My love of bible prophecy began even before I surrendered my heart to Jesus Christ.
I was always curious as a young child about God.
During the Easter Season , all the other kids would be eating their chocolate bunnies and beating each other up with the paddles they got in their baskets, long having lost their little rubber balls.

I was glued to the huge console TV watching the Ten Commandments and The Greatest Story Ever Told, Ben-Hur and The Robe.

I was positive God lived somewhere in the huge church I attended each week with my Aunt , a devout Catholic, perhaps , behind a curtain somewhere. Must be like the Wizard of Oz….

During the 70’s as a young teenager , I began to really think about God. All the normal teenage questions Who, What, Where , How, When…

I was looking for the answers and I began searching… I read just about everything on every religion I could find.
Mrs. M , my best friend’s mother, gave me a book which I still own today. A big hard-bound books on the World’s Greatest Religions. I set out on a journey.

About the same time, My mother’s sister came to Christ. It was the mid 70’s.

God who is great in mercy, began to spread through my family and through our little neighborhood , extending his salvation , and people were coming to Christ. It was a mini revival in my neighborhood and in my family.

During that same time I was given a prophecy book ….Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey….I read that book cover to cover at least 3 times and had more questions than ever before.

Reading that book, made one thing black and white to me. There was a Heaven and there was a Hell, and I wanted to be in Heaven with Jesus.

Within a week or so of that revelation, My Aunt Glenda led me to the Lord Jesus Christ and gave me my first bible. Dated January 15, 1980.

Since that time, I have continued to study prophecy , it was the tool that the Holy Spirit used with me to lead me to the foot of the cross of my savior Jesus Christ.

In the coming weeks I would like to share with you some of the prophetic discoveries God has shared with me over the past 30 years.

So , while Fridays are when we open our house to our Bible Study group,. I thought it would be the best day to do the prophecy post .

Praying that God brings each of your through the greatest adventures as you spend time in His Word this year.

Spinach Stuffed Shells.........

Spinach Stuffed Shells Recipe

12 jumbo shells, cooked according to the package directions

1 pound spinach, steamed and squeezed dry

12 oz ricotta cheese

1/2 cup grated parmesan, divided

1 egg, beaten slightly

2 cups spaghetti sauce

Pour the spaghetti sauce in bottom of a 9 x 13 pan.

Mix the spinach, ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup parmesan, and egg together.

Place 1 -2 T of cheese mixture in each shell and put stuffed shell in the pan.

Sprinkle remaining parmesan over the top. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes.

You can use frozen spinach. Just thaw and squeeze as dry as possible.

Uncover the pan during the last 5 - 10 minutes of baking.
Enjoy!
I am doing a "pantry-challenge" trying to prepare meals using what I currently have on hand.
Which accounts for all the pasta/Tomato/Chicken dishes.... I am going to have to break down and get to the market and pick-up some canned goods which are on sale.

Calling all Prayer Warriors.....

I am thankful to the Lord that I have several groups of prayer partners, and ready intercessors who I can e-mail with prayer requests night or day and I know that they pray.

If your like me, then you know the comfort and great peace that comes when we know that there are other brothers and sisters in Christ lifting up our need/concern/request to God.
I also personally consider it a privilege to pray for the saints and to go before the Father on the behalf of another.

With that , I would like to extend an invitation to you to prayerfully consider becoming a prayer partner with me , my husband and others believers that God has connected us with over the past several years . God bless your ears to hear if this is for you.....

What would it require of you….
A willing heart to seek God on behalf of another.
An e-email address to receive prayer request s from me.
Several prayer partners have set up an e-mail just to receive requests.
Usually this is a daily e-mail. But sometimes it is every few days .
We get many , many prayer requests daily . If you feel the Holy Spirit prompting you please email me at athisfeetforeverprayer@yahoo.com . Share with me an email address that I can forward a request to , and that is it.

Ro:1:9: For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Ro:12:12: Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Eph:6:18: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Col:4:2: Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

Col:4:12: Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

1Th:1:2: We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
1Tm:2:1: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

Looking forward to hearing from all that God would call to this beautiful ministry in the Body of Christ.

Repentance ...the Key to Revival

We all pray for it, get glimpses of it, talk about it, shout about, bring in an evangelist to bring one on……….But are we really experiencing revival ?

In my quiet time with the Lord this morning I felt like the He was telling me something the bible states over and over, the key to revival is repentance.

One of the greatest examples we have of this in God’s word , is the story of the reluctant prophet Jonah called by God to speak to the city of Nineveh.

Nineveh was a great city the word of God declares. But, their wicked ways had come up before the Lord and He was going to destroy it.

Jonah…… did not want to go and proclaim the Word of God to Nineveh …..An entire people could have been lost for his disobedience……

One of the most amazing portions of scripture relating to this subject , to me, is this ……..
Jon:3:4: And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
Jon:3:5: So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
Jon:3:6: For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
Jon:3:7: And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
Jon:3:8: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
Jon:3:9: Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
Jon:3:10: And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

This is such an awesome example to us today……
Jonah enters the city with the word of God, proclaims it, the people believe God, they call a solemn fast, cover themselves in sackcloth and ashes at the decree of the King and hope for God’s mercy…….

What would happen if the proclamation to repent was made today to this nation? Would we believe it ?
Would we call a fast, cover-ourselves and turn from our evil ways and hope and pray for God’s mercy ? Would revival come?

God’s Word gives us the answer: 2Ch:7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

In the beginning...........

This morning marks a new year, a new decade ,

and another opportunity to read through God's Word.

I always read chronologically, right through the Word.

It is always fresh and exciting each January 1st to open God's word and read .......

In the beginning.................

It is the starting place, the place for hope, the start of belief, the promise of tomorrow.

It is always unfolding, always bringing you out further into that place, in Christ that is just yours and His!

I encourage you , if you have never read through God's word in it's entirety, why not make this year the year that you do it.

There are all kinds of schedules and programs available to help you keep you on track.

My daily reading is just my breakfast for the day. It often leads me to lunch , dinner, desserts and plenty of snacking through-out the word each day. Some days I eat more, sometimes I eat less.

But.....I always have my breakfast!!!

Praying this coming years leads you through streams of living waters in God's word!
