Thanking the Lord Jesus for His precious Holy Spirit.
How refreshing and calming it is to be in a time set apart to spend with the Lord.
Today's time of prayer and fasting spoke volumes to my heart and spirit. There are so many "voices" in competition for our time , our attention and devotion. I was especially aware of the voice of the Spirit today. And how important it is to be led by the Spirit of God. God's Spirit is not loud and boisterous.
Joh:3:8: The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
There are so many "distractions" that would keep us from hearing the still small voice of God.
Like the story of the prophet Elijah........in 1st Kings 19 .........
1Ki:19:11: And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
1Ki:19:12: And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
Mountain tearing, Earthquakes , Fires burning. But the Lord was not in them.
Pig Flu's, Famines, Supreme Court Appointee's.............
Listen and be led by the still small voice of God's precious Holy Spirit . For the battle is the Lord's .
1Sa:17:47: And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands.
Hugs & Prayers, GG

Kudos to you, GG, for reminding us of who and what we ought to be listening to. Thank you!
I've got to tell you my dear friend, the more instensely determined I was to hear the voice of the Lord in this time of prayer and fast , the louder the voices of chatter seemed to be until I was able to reach a place of peace and surrender to the Spirit of God, where I could "shut-out" the noice and chatter vying for my attention. God is Faithful.
Hugs, GG
Amen GG...your voice is like warm chocolate chip cookies and a cold glass of milk waiting on the kitchen table when you arrive home from grammar school...a reminder that love and comfort is yours for the looking :)
