1 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons rum extract
1/2 cup raisins
1 loaf of Cinnamon Raisin Bread cubed
8 eggs, beaten

In a large saucepan, add milk, butter, vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar, rum extract and raisins and heat until warm. Simmer and stir until sugar dissolves.
Into a large bowl add the cubed bread and pour in the hot milk mixture. Let sit for 30 minutes so the bread absorbs the milk.

(((JBR)))....It is a family favorite. Sometimes we top it with Vanilla Ice Cream, sometimes, Whipped cream and sometimes we serve it warm with milk like a hot cereal. If you have a crock pot....anyone can cook lol

Oh my goodness this looks fabulous, and a crock pot version. I may have to give this a try it's one of my favorites! And Thank you for your comment. I have to admit, after yesterday I felt a little "beat up". I knew there would be controversy over that post, but it was important to put out there. Thank you dear GG, for your support!
love,
Debra

Debra ~~
I am really amazed at how great the crockpot version is , my cousin Debbie make it this way and it is delish. All of us know how to make Bread Pudding. We all have a little variation but all of them are yummy.
Debra ~~ I share the same view on the issue you brought up. Just wanted to comment so that you would have some support for your position, it has been super busy at my house , so although you may not see alot of commenting. I am definately reading.

My family loves this too Deb ~~ My Uncle Roger believes his recipe is the best....which it was...until my cousin Debbie came up with the crockpot version lol.
But if I am making it for my Uncle , I always use the oven version and assure him that his Bread Pudding is the "original" best ;-).
