Wow! Not like that, no. We don't take a whole lot of meds in our family, but if we have to, we definitely will. I really ought to start stocking up on some things. Thanks for the reminder, and way to go on your flu season stockpile!
Might I suggest Ocillococinum...a homeopathic remedy for flu.
Great list that inspires me to get prepared.
Thanks ladies, I try to use natural remedies too! Although I do not know much about them my daughter and I are looking at alternative remedies.
Parsley where would I get Ocillococinum ? The health food store? Also a friend suggested Gelsemium, have you heard of that?
In our current living situation with 2 of the children in public school, an infant under 1 year and two elderly ladies with Nurses and HHA's coming in daily, there is alot of exposure to illness and germs. Trying to think ahead as usually when one of us starts coughing it does not take long to go through the house.
Praying we all weather flu season with great results!
Wow... I'm a list maker - so I appreciate this.
In my home it's typically just my husband and myself. We typically try a lot of preventative stuff. We take garlic each day to strengthen and ward off illnesses before we get them. We begin using a humidifier when the winter air gets dry enough to cause sinus infections.
But ya know... although we do all the preventative stuff we can think of - when the grandchildren come over with their sniffly noses and give us those sloppy kisses and hugs - we have to have SOMETHING in our medicine cabinet! lol
So I really thank you for sharing all of this.
God bless you during the cold/flu season - and may He place a hedge of protection around and about your home.
Ok I got a kick of the "partridge in a pear tree". Forget all the meds I want to know where the soup is...it looks wonderful. We keep a certain amount of meds on hand anyway but we aren't nearly as prepared as you are. Something that helps with sinus problems that can lead to worse infections is a Netti Pot. They help tremendously. Thanks for sharing your helpful list!
Thanks for sharing ladies. I'll get a recipe up soon for Chicken soup. I love that soup ,stew and Chowder season in New England.
I was talking with my Mom's Primary Nurse- she is such a great friend and wealth of information.
During flu season the people most vulnerable are the elderly and the very young under 2y/o.
She told me something yesterday I was not aware of -
Common Surgical Masks are only good for 15 minutes.
So I will triple them up if I am helping my Mom with her ADL's so I do not put her at risk if I get the sniffles from .......those sloppy hugs & kisses from the Grands!
Hugs & Prayers, GG
